Last updated on May 24, 2024

Meet Vibhuti, a material science & CS enthusiast, she is a 17 y/o with a lot of 'I want to save the world' in her. Here's Vibhuti's journey.

Builder journey

Spending her summer holidays in Rajasthan while being raised in two of the most populated cities on Earth- Delhi and Mumbai, she solves problems associated with her past experiences, especially solving water scarcity & making energy accessible.

On a random Tuesday, you can find her experimenting with types of pasta, reading research papers about innovations in tech, coding a website or solving a chemistry problem.

In 2023, she became an Innovator at The Knowledge Society, an accelerator for 13 to 17-year-olds, where she has worked on consultancy challenges alongside Meta & World Economic Forum.

It is also here that she discovered her love for material science & got a $1000 grant from the 1517 fund for her idea of using Sodium batteries to make a battery management system for EVs.

She also became a Rise Global Finalist for 2024. Growing up in a monsoon-filled coastal region of Mumbai but spending extremely hot & water deficient summers in Rajasthan, India- she saw women carrying earthen pots of water for miles, firsthand.

So she aimed to build a portable water desalination system powered by solar energy to address the critical issue of water scarcity in Rajasthan. This initiative empowers local communities with easier access to essential water for sanitation, significantly reducing the daily burden of traveling miles for water.

Her commitment to leveraging technology for environmental and social betterment shines brightly through her projects. In her free time, she spreads awareness & fundraises for people dealing with T1/T2 diabetes at Project Surya.

Vibhuti journey exemplifies the power of innovation and empathy in addressing pressing societal challenges
