Astra mission is to grow builders on the internet. The core idea behind the company - one we seek to take very seriously. In particular, thanks to the new possibilities afforded by the internet, we believe that putting better - more builder, entrepreneurs, indie-hackers and visionary people in one community. Remarkably, we've grown significantly since our early days when we launched a year ago.

In this report, we will share our progress of Astra and our community.

What’s happening at Astra?

Our mission is to grow builders and hackers on the internet. We are unabashed boosters of entrepreneurship and innovation and think that a more vibrant internet economy will bring broadly felt prosperity. We try to help in five primary ways:

1. Increase the rate of projects being built by the help of feedback loop from the community.
2. Helping peers get supportive environment and collaboration.
3. Provide a Carrer boost by connecting skilled students/members with job opportunities.
4. Events which help the community members to level up their skills.
5. Hackathons, work together on projects, solve problems, and learn new skills quickly.

In this report, we’ll share our progress on these and on a handful of trends that have caught our eye.

Projects

In this quarter numerous numbers of projects have been built out by the community. We’re excited by this trend and think everyone else should be too.

Entrepreneurship is the lifeblood of a dynamic economy. For all the gloomy headlines, it’s important to contextualize with the fact that more new ventures are being started today than during the market boom.

Here are the launches of the quarter:

1. Kraken a code editor made by Vishnu. Kraken, a "NEW" code editor, made with new flavor, design pattern and theory. GitHub Link here.

2. Turbox a fast performing in-memory Vector Database API to store, retrieve, manipulate, and search vectors through various HTTP endpoints with efficient operations on vectors. GitHub Link here.

3. NotesGPT by Abdullah. AI-powered webapp to transform voice notes into organized summaries and actionable items. Visit NotesGPT here.

4. AutoCaptionGenAI A Python project that extracts audio from video files, transcribes the speech, translates it into a target language, and generates SRT subtitles. GitHub Link here.

Astra Events/Workshop

This quarter we hosted events and workshop for the community members,

1. Community Game Night: We hosted a members' game night, featuring various Discord party games such as Football, Party Putt, and Cooking Mania.
2. Pitch Workshop: We held a workshop designed to help participants enhance their pitch and slides. This event was open to everyone interested in improving their pitching skills, including first-time founders. The workshop was hosted by Suhas Sumukh.
